The results of many studies have indicated the probability that at least some cases of so-called non-specific urethritis are due to a virus TRIC agent, which is the cause of trachoma and of inclusion blennorrhoea, has recently been isolated from the urethra in such cases (Dunlop, Jones, and Al-Hussaini, 1964, 1965; Dunlop, Al-Hussaini, Garland, Treharne, Harper, and Jones, 1965).
