Abstract

Abstract On adding a slight excess of water to cyclopropanone, 1,1‐dihydroxycyclopropane (cyclopropanone hydrate) can be isolated in a high yield. The hydrate adds to cyclopropanone giving a mixture of α,ω ‐dihydroxypoly‐(oxycyclopropylidenes), which are isolated as the acetates.
