Abstract

Our previous studies have suggested that care of the hospitalized morbidly obese patient demands more nursing staff, more nursing time, and presents greater safety concerns than care of the non-obese patient. This paper reports the results of a pilot study designed to investigate these resource requirements and safety concerns.
