Considerable difference of opinion exists as to the relative merits of the availab]e diluents for bovine semen used in artificial breeding. This is evidenced by the report of the first annual meeting of the National Association of Artificial Breeders (4) which indicates that phosphate-yolk, citrate-sulfa-yolk and Phillips' pabulum have been used with varying degrees of success.
