The complexes (X6-acen)Ru(PPh3)2 (X = H (1) and F (2)) have been prepared and characterized by standard spectroscopic and analytical methods. Additionally, the solid-state structure of 2 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Ligand exchange reactions involving the labile Ru−PPh3 bond are easily performed, and complex 1 serves as a catalyst precursor for the isomerization of 1-hexene.
