A study was made to determine the degree of correlation between the shooting accuracy of nine varsity basketball players and the visual attributes of static visual acuity, dynamic visual acuity, depth perception, and size constancy. The data were subjected to a principal-component analysis, followed by a linear regression model, using a digital computer. The results indicate that basket shooting accuracy is significantly dependent upon dynamic visual acuity, and that individual shooting performances from both the field and free-throw line can be predicted within an error of 4% using the multiple regression model developed in this study.
