The molecular weight distribution of the products of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Abstract

The literature data on the principal types of experimental molecular-weight distributions in the products of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis are examined and classified. The influence of the catalyst composition and the experimental conditions in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis on the type of molecular weight distribution is considered. The possible mechanisms of the propagation and termination of the hydrocarbon chain in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis are discussed using the available data on the molecular-weight distribution.
