Abstract

Abstract Combining polymeric silver alkynyl clusters with the Wells–Dawson polyoxometalate [P 2 W 18 O 62 ] 6– has led to the formation of the first chain‐like intercluster compounds {[Ag 14 (C≡C t Bu) 8 (C 3 H 7 NO) 10 ][Ag 12 (C≡C t Bu) 6 Cl(C 3 H 7 NO) 10 ]H[P 2 W 18 O 62 ] 2 } n ( 1 ) and {[Ag 16 (C≡C t Bu) 11 (CH 3 CN) 6 ][P 2 W 18 O 62 ]} 2 [Ag 14 (C≡C t Bu) 12 (CH 3 CN) 2 ] ( 2 ). Both compounds contain large, yet‐unknown silver alkynyl clusters as cationic building blocks which are linked to the polyanions by direct silver–oxygen contacts, i.e. by ligand‐free interfaces.
