A coupled finite element-boundary element method is applied to three-dimensional eddy-current problems. The magnetic vector potential A and scalar potential phi are adopted for the formulation. The finite element method is used in the conducting region, while the boundary element method is used in the exterior vacant region. A symmetric linking method is chosen for the coupling procedure. The calculations show good agreement with analytical results and results obtained by other numerical methods.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
