Sixteen-Second Periodic Pulsations Observed in the Correlated Microwave and Energetic X-Ray Emission from a Solar Flare

Abstract

The solar X-ray event of August 8, 1968, detected on a high-altitude balloon shows a 16-sec periodic modulation in the X-ray intensity-time profile. These periodic variations correlate well with the fine features in microwave radio-emission data.
