Abstract

Maintainability of the mechanical system should be considered from early stages of the design process to reduce its total life-cycle cost A computer-aided engineering environment that supports maintainability analysis of an evolving mechanical system design in a concurrent engineering environment is presented Its communication with the underlying concurrent engineering environment and capabilities to evaluate maintainability of the mechanical system are described and illustrated
