Effect of vagotomy on gastric acid secretion stimulated by pentagastrin and histamine.

Abstract

With the peanut preparation evaluated in the present double- blind trial on 92 haemophiliacs no favourable effect on bleeding could be observed. Based on these findings we would propose to refrain from recommending peanuts or their extracts as a haemostatic agent to haemophilic patients until definite proof of the beneficial effect of a given peanut preparation to the control of haemophilic bleeding is presented.
