A class of commutative Banach algebras which satisfy a BochnerSchoenberg-Eberlein-type inequality is introduced. Commutative <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> C ∗ {C^ * } </inline-formula> -algebras, the disk algebra and the Hardy algebra on the open disk are examples.
