Abstract

Asymptomatic infrahepatic interruption of the inferior vena cava with portal continuation is described. The diagnosis was established by ultrasound and confirmed by inferior cavography and computed tomography. Hemodynamic studies showed portal hypertension due to increased blood flow through the liver.
