Influence of flexoelectric coupling on domain patterns in ferroelectrics

Abstract

The authors investigate the effect of flexoelectricity in ferroelectrics. They show that the flexoelectric coupling between polarization and strain gradients can lead to complex domain patterns such as arrays of polarization vortices.
