Early results indicate that because midazolam does not lower IOP, it may be a useful adjunct to ketamine anesthesia in children with glaucoma undergoing ophthalmologic examination under anesthesia. However, studies of midazolam must be conducted in children and patients with glaucoma before its use in these populations can be recommended.
