Abstract The optimum p H for the emulsion polymerization of hexamethylenedithiol and diallyldimethylsilane was found to be in the region of 3.0 to 4.0. A variety of polyalkylene sulfides containing silicon were prepared using bulk, solution, and emulsion polymerization techniques. All of the polyalkylene sulfides which contained silicon were heavy oily materials which were very “tacky”.
