Pure cultures of the very rare entomogenous ascomycete Cordyceps memorabilis Cesati, derived from both endosclerotia and ascospores, have shown that the conidial state of this fungus is Paecilomyces farinosus (Holm ex S. F. Gray) Brown & Smith. Coremia of P. farinosus were produced in culture, but the perithecia of the sexual state have not yet been obtained under artificial conditions.
