Fluoxetine for depression in diabetes: a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial.

Abstract

Fluoxetine effectively reduces the severity of depression in diabetic patients. Our study demonstrated that after only 8 weeks, this treatment also produced a trend toward better glycemic control.
