Abstract

Single doses (>/=10 microg/kg) of ZA strikingly reduced focal bone erosions and juxtaarticular trabecular bone loss, although synovitis was mildly exacerbated. Targeting osteoclasts with ZA may therefore be an effective strategy for preventing structural joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis.
