Abstract

Solid and gaseous microemboli were increased in patients with procedure-related ipsilateral ischemic strokes or new diffusion-weighted cerebral MRI lesions, which suggests that both solid and gaseous emboli may be harmful to the brain during CEA and carotid angioplasty with stenting.
