Abstract

Coexistence of vesicoureteral reflux and urinary calculi was noted in 16 patients. This new observation suggests that a patient with urinary calculi and urinary tract infection of long duration should be examined for reflux. After the removal of the stone (or stones) and appropriate anti-microbial therapy, if infection persists and reflux is believed to be an important etiologic factor, surgical correction of reflux may be considered.
