New Steroids from the Soft Coral <i>Nephthea chabrolii</i>

Abstract

Abstract Six new steroids, chabrolosteroids D–I (1–6), were isolated from the organic extract of a Taiwanese soft coral Nephthea chabrolii. The structures of these metabolites were determined on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Metabolite 6 was found to exhibit weak cytotoxicity against the growth of Hep 3B and A-549 cell lines.
