Abstract

From Faraday rotation measurements, evidence is given that irradiation, with near-infrared light, of the cobalt aluminosilicate glass in its spin-glass state hastens the relaxation of the thermoremanent magnetization. Experimental data on the dependence of this photomagnetic anneal with radiation power, light wavelength, and polarization are discussed within a simple phenomenological model.
