Postprocessing technique for blocking artifacts reduction in DCT domain

Abstract

An effective post-processing technique is proposed to reduce the blocking artifacts in the block discrete cosine transform (BDCT)-coded images. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional post-processing techniques in both PSNR and visual quality.
