Glycosylating Properties of Ketopyranosyl Donors: Stereospecific Synthesis of Ketodisaccharides

Abstract

Glycosidation of heptulopyranose donors 6, 9, 13 and 15 gave exclusively α-linked ketodisaccarides. On the other hand, glycosidation of a similar ketose donor (i.e. 21) having a participating ester group on C-3 afforded an anomeric mixture of ketoglycosides.
