Abstract

Abstract Corneal chrysiasis, gold deposition in the cornea seen in the course of gold therapy, was studied in 40 patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The deposition was related to the total dose of gold and to the amount of drug injected weekly. Patients did not experience visual disturbances or other ocular symptoms. Deposits in the cornea disappeared in a fairly short time after gold therapy was discontinued.
