The high-frequency conductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas in the presence of ionized impurities is calculated to lowest order in ${\mathcal{r}}_{s}$. The results for the apparent change in mass with frequency and temperature are directly compared with two sets of experimental data and found to be in excellent agreement with the frequency-dependent results.
