Abstract

Alopecia of the eyebrows may be seen in secondary syphilis with or without associated lesions of the skin and mucous membranes. The alopecia is irregular, incomplete, and is often described as moth eaten in appearance. The loss of hair is temporary, and normal regrowth has been noted following appropriate antisyphilitic treatment.
