Abstract

Constitutive activation of TGFbeta signaling in fibroblastic cells of mice after birth caused a marked fibrotic phenotype characteristic of SSc. These mice should be excellent models with which to test therapies aimed at correcting excessive TGFbeta signaling in human scleroderma.
