IN preceding reports1 , 2 data were presented indicating that a group of Trappist monks, subsisting on a diet low in calories, cholesterol, animal fat and protein, did not have serum cholesterol values significantly below those expected for normal males in this country. A second evaluation of the same group was carried out two years later to characterize the serum lipids in these subjects further.
