Histopathology of In-Stent Restenosis in Patients With Peripheral Artery Disease

Abstract

These findings support the notion that in-stent restenosis results from SMC hyperplasia and suggest that adjunctive therapies designed to inhibit SMC proliferation may further enhance the utility of endovascular stents.
