Abstract

Fetal thymus size is decreased in women with preterm PROM and chorioamnionitis. Measurement of the fetal thymus might allow an early diagnosis of chorioamnionitis in cases of preterm PROM. Normal thymus size might be used to rule out latent intrauterine infection.
