Abstract

An encapsulated Cu3(OH)2 ensemble is formed within a macrocyclic ligand consisting of three (R,R)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine residues linked through 2,6-dimethylpyridine spacers (see picture; Cu orange, O red, N blue). Its crystal structure, magnetic behavior, and characterization in solution by potentiometric measurements and paramagnetic 1H NMR spectroscopy are reported.
