Hemofiltration during Cardiopulmonary Bypass in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

Abstract

Hemofiltration during cardiopulmonary bypass in children improves hemodynamics and early postoperative oxygenation and reduces postoperative blood loss and duration of mechanical ventilation. Hemofiltration is able to remove some major mediators of the inflammatory response.
