Extensions of Jentzsch’s theorem

Abstract

In this paper, the projective metric of Hilbert(1) is applied to prove various extensions of Jentzsch's theorem on integral equations(2) with positive kernels. In particular, it is shown that Jentzsch's theorem reduces to the Picard fixpoint theorem(3), relative to this projective metric.
