Reciprocating machinery bearing analysis: Theory and practice

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this paper is to review theoretical and experimental work undertaken on the design and performance assessment of bearings in reciprocating machinery. The review details the most recent developments in theoretical approaches to design and also describes the practical work that has been undertaken to validate theoretical models. The limitations of both areas of work are identified.
