Abstract The syntheses of 2‐fluoroquinoline and 2,6‐difluoropyridine in yields of respective 60% and 52% have been accomplished by treating the corresponding chloro‐compounds with anhydrous potassium fluoride in dimethyl sulfone. Under similar conditions, 2‐chloropyridine did not yield appreciable amounts of 2‐fluoropyridine.
