Abstract

In Brief This study evaluates the cost-effectiveness of the X-STOP interspinous spacer by using data for moderately impaired lumbar spinal stenosis patients from a multicenter, randomized clinical trial. The X-STOP spacer was cost-effective relative to conservative care ($17, 894 per quality-adjusted life-year) and dominant compared with surgical laminectomy (less expensive and yields better quality of life), supporting the use of the X-STOP spacer for the treatment of patient symptoms due to lumbar spinal stenosis.
