Toroidal plasma rotation in axisymmetric and slightly nonaxisymmetric systems

Abstract

The relaxation of toroidal plasma rotation in the intermediate and collisional regimes has been calculated. The present results connect smoothly to previous results for the banana and collisional regimes. Small magnetic field ripples lead to a nonambipolar ion flux which may significantly affect toroidal rotation in all three regimes. This has also been calculated.
