We have measured the total inelastic cross section (${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{\mathrm{inel}}$) and charged-particle multiplicities obtained in $\mathrm{pp}$ collisions at 405 GeV/c. The data are from a preliminary 12 000-picture bubble-chamber exposure. We find ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{\mathrm{inel}}=32.8\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0$ mb; the low moments of the multiplicity distribution for negative particles are $〈{n}_{\ensuremath{-}}〉=3.50\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.07$, ${D}_{\ensuremath{-}}=2.37\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05$, ${{f}_{2}}^{\ensuremath{-}}=2.1\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2$, and ${{f}_{3}}^{\ensuremath{-}}=0.1\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9$. We also present updated results at 102 GeV/c.
