Abstract

SUMMARY This chapter uses a biopsychosocial and spiritual model to examine the help-seeking behavior of African-American individuals with mental illness. It addresses questions related to African-Americans undertutilization of formal mental health services and how spritual factors contribute to their seeking help from African-American pastors.
