We first generalize to ( <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">A, B, C, D</tex> ) quadruples the geometric characterization of the infinite zero structure. We then give a new geometric proof for a solvability condition of the exact model matching problem expressed in terms of this concept and previously established, in the polynomial context, by Morse, Verghese, and Pernebo. This emphasizes the approach-independent character of the infinite zero structure.
