On bromopyridines: (59th communication on derivatives of pyridine and quinoline)

Abstract

Abstract Descriptions are given of different methods of preparation and proofs of the structure of six bromopyridines (2,3‐dibromo‐, 2,4‐dibromo‐, 3,4‐dibromo‐, 2,3,4‐tribromo‐, 2,4,5‐tribromo‐, and 2,3,4,5‐tetrabromopyridine), while at the same time some of their chemical properties, in particular their reaction with ammonia, are discussed. In conclusion a survey is given of some of the physical properties of the bromopyridines which are now all known; the boiling points of these substances were determined anew.
