Hydrogen energetics: Past, present, prospects

Abstract

The deficit of organic fossil fuels and growing global ecological problems has attached increased interest to renewable power sources and hydrogen technologies. A series of major programs are presently in progress, whose ultimate goal is to realize the concept of hydrogen energy systems. The paper considers the dynamics in the development of hydrogen energetics whose concept has been conceived on the background of the global oil crisis of the 1970s.
