Abstract

The ability of Strongyloides to sustain an intestinal infection through autoinvasion and to cause serious disease (hyperinfection syndrome) among certain hosts makes it unique among intestinal helminths. In this case, the patient was treated to manage her symptoms and prevent subsequent Strongyloides hyperinfection.
