Abstract The amorphization of the transverse Ising model on square lattice with S = 1 is discussed by using the effective‐field approximation. The longitudinal and transverse magnetization, the fluctuation of spin operator S z , Δ = ( y – m ) 1/2 , associated with the order parameter y ≪(S ) 2 ≫ r and the initial parallel susceptibility χ ‖ are calculated in detail. Some interesting properties in their behavior are investigated.
