Abstract

These data support clinical examination of intrathecal adenosine alone and with clonidine in the treatment of chronic pain states that include a component of mechanical hypersensitivity and suggest that, after nerve injury, adenosine acts to reduce hypersensitivity through spinal norepinephrine release.
