Identification of Hepatocystis species in a macaque monkey in northern Myanmar

Abstract

The results suggest that a combination of polymerase chain reaction amplification and sequence identification would be necessary for detection of <i>Plasmodium knowlesi</i> infection in both humans and its natural hosts.
