An experiment was performed to determine nuclear radii from the coherent neutral meson production. Since the pi /sup 0/ production from neutrons and protons is essentially the same, what is measured is the distribution of nuclear matter as distinct from the electric charge distribution measured in electron scattering experiments. The target consisted of 7.67 g/cm/sup 2/ of carbon. The x-ray source was the bremsstrahlung beam from a 180-Mev synchrotron and was collimated to 6.4 cm diam. at the carbon target. (W.D.M.)
